Date difference
The date difference shows how far apart two dates are. The same date is 0 days, and the next day is 1 day. This is the count to use for questions like how many days from now.
Inclusive days
Inclusive days count the start date as day 1, so the result is always one more than the date difference. This style is used for application windows, stays, and work periods described as a number of days.
How date boundaries are handled
- Across a new year: counted as it is. December 31 2025 to January 1 2026 is a difference of 1 day, or 2 days counted inclusively.
- Leap years: February 29 counts as one day. January 1 2024 to December 31 2024 is a difference of 365 days, or 366 days counted inclusively.
- The same date: the difference is 0 days, or 1 day counted inclusively.
- End date before the start date: the absolute difference is shown together with a note that the end date comes first.
- Times and time zones: not used. Only the entered year, month, and day are counted, so time zones and daylight saving time do not change the result.

Yes. The result shows the absolute day difference and indicates that the end date is before the start date.
Are year boundaries and leap years handled correctly?
Yes. The count follows the calendar, so periods that cross a new year are counted as they are and February 29 in a leap year is counted as one day. For example, January 1 2024 to December 31 2024 is a difference of 365 days, or 366 days counted inclusively.
Can it skip weekends and public holidays?

Does the calculator use times or time zones?
No. It works on calendar dates only, so the entered year, month, and day are the only values used and time of day, time zones, and daylight saving time do not change the result.
